True 8K 360° Video
Simply by pressing the shutter button, the GoPro Max2 360 Action Camera captures panoramic 8K video. There is no need for you to frame any shot, as the dual lenses record a 360° field of view.
To produce a realistic colour reproduction and smooth gradations, 8K footage supports 10-bit colour. More advanced users can toggle GP-Log for even more detail without the need to correct images in post.
Multiple Creative Modes
Multiple modes are available for creating different-looking videos and stills. You can capture 29MP still 360° images with the ability to crop, zoom, and reframe. Super Slo-Mo records UHD 4K100 video in 3x slow motion or 5.6K60 video in 2x slow motion. Add CameraFX to your video with Spin, Flip, Roll, Wobble, Tiny Planet, and more. TimeWarp, Time-Lapse, and Night-Lapse modes speed up time in smooth 8K resolution.
You will also find some additional night effects, allowing you to get creative after dark for different night painting with natural or artificial light sources. The Scheduled Capture Mode allows you to set your GoPro to turn on automatically and record up to 24 hours in advance.
Single-Lens Video and Max HyperView
The GoPro Max 2 360 Action Camera records 4K60 video in single-lens mode using either the front or back lens. A 180° Max HyperView digital lens captures ultra-wide, familiar GoPro video. You can also select between additional lens sizes: Linear, Wide, Ultra Wide, and Max SuperView.
HyperSmooth Stabilisation and Horizon Lock
The HyperSmooth mode stabilises and smooths out video, even in high-paced shots like mountain biking and skydiving. This, while Horizon lock assist keeping the horizon straight, still keeps viewers properly orientated.
Surround Audio
To further the spherical video, the Max 2 also records spherical audio. Using the six microphones, all audio will be recorded from all directions. This will create an immersive 360° sound experience.
Replaceable Glass Lenses
The GoPro Max2 360 Action Camera features easily removable dual lenses that can be replaced when scratched or damaged. With an optical glass construction, the surface features a water-repelling surface that allows you to record in extreme weather conditions. These lenses also feature coatings to assist in reducing lens flares and other distortions to maintain clear images.
Timecode Sync
Wirelessly sync multiple MAX2s with timecode and the GoPro Quik app. This makes capturing an activity from multiple angles even easier to edit in post.
Quick App
Use the free-to-download Quik App for Android or iOS to Reframe and transform your mind-bending 360° footage to traditional, easy-to-watch and share videos. You can also experiment with countless views, instantly create cinematic transitions, and more.
Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 Connectivity
For enhanced audio quality recording, the GoPro Max2 360 Action Camera uses Bluetooth to connect to wireless microphone systems. Wireless earbuds can also be connected for your voice commands to be clearly picked up by the camera.
Media files can easily be transferred to your phone using either Wi-Fi 6 or Bluetooth 5.3 and the free-to-download Quik App. Another way would be to use the USBC-C port and the included cable to connect to your phone.
Multiple Mounting Options
Featuring a 1/4″-20 mounting thread a the bottom of the GoPro Max 2 allows you to screw the unit to an extension pole of your choice. The extension pole on which the camera is mounted will completely vanish from view for an immersive third-person POV experience.
To further expand your mounting compatibility options, the camera features fold-out built-in mounting fingers, allowing you to use it with 3-prong mounts.
Waterproof and Voice Control
The GoPro Max2 360 Action Camera is rated waterproof up to 5 meters without the need for any additional housing or protection. The touchscreen provides quick management of settings. In case your hands are full, you can also make use of the 13 voice commands to provide control over the camera.
